Taylor Yard G2 Parcel is representative of typical downtown development along the Los Angeles River. The river segment along the Parcel is isolated and not easily accessible. The concept of “entangled infrastructure“ aspires to create connections between the river and its adjacent land, and at the same time make those structures entangle themselves to create various spatial experiences. The new infrastructure system (not for cars) is organized around speeds, user types, and modes of transportation. Distinct plant communities will be planted to make different functional routes easily recognizable. The scheme inherits the artificial and utilitarian nature of the LA river, and enables simple connections to become destinations.
